Naked man shot and killed after attacking homeowner in Mississippi

BILOXI, Miss. (VDN) — 

A naked man who allegedly attacked a homeowner’s neighbor after emerging from the Biloxi River was later found dead following an overnight search in a flooded area, according to the Biloxi Police Department.

Police said dispatchers received a 911 call around 8 p.m. Saturday in the 11000 block of Woolmarket Lake Road. The caller told authorities they were away from home but saw a naked white male on their Ring doorbell camera emerge from the Biloxi River, walk up the stairs to their residence and enter the porch area.

Dispatchers also received multiple calls from the area reporting a naked man, police said.

According to investigators, the homeowner contacted a next-door neighbor and asked them to check on the property. The neighbor went to the home and encountered the naked man on the porch. Police said the neighbor told the man the homeowner asked him to check on the residence and asked if he needed help.

At that point, the naked man allegedly charged at the neighbor and struck him, police said. The neighbor then fired multiple shots, striking the man, but police said the man continued attacking him.

During the altercation, police said the naked man disarmed the neighbor before walking away from the residence and returning to the water.

Heavy flooding in the area prevented emergency vehicles from reaching the scene, forcing officers to be transported by boat, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found the neighbor suffering from facial lacerations and bruising. Investigators were also able to review security camera footage from the home, which police said captured the entire incident.

Authorities conducted a search of the area using rescue boats. Around 2 a.m. Sunday, officers located the body of the man on shore near the area where the incident occurred.

The identity of the man has not been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
