Four injured after gunfire at Se’ren
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Four people were injured after a spray of gunfire at an event held at Se’ren on the corner of Drummond and Belmont.
Just before 8 p.m., a large number of gunshots from automatic or semi-automatic weapons rang out in the parking lot of Se’ren and on Drummond Street. According to eyewitnesses, hundreds of people were in the area after a day party let out. A disagreement turned into an altercation, and soon escalated into shots being fired.
The large crowd scattered, leaving behind shoes, drinks, vapes, cell phones, bracelets, and vehicles. As the crowd returned, several people reported they had seen someone shot. The police alerted the hospital, and several people showed up at the hospital with injuries. The Sheriff’s Office dispatched units to assist with crowd control at the hospital, where over 100 people gathered.
Police Chief Larry Burns has identified the four people who were injured as Michael Rader, 20, Jarria Andrews, 28, Adrianna Butler, no age given, and Kamry Parker, no age given. Andrews, Butler, and Parker’s injuries are not life-threatening. Rader was airlifted to UMMC. There is no update on his condition.
Police have two people of interest in the shooting, including the injured Rader. The other shooter was captured on video and, at the time of this report, has not been positively identified.
