Woman shot multiple times in apparent domestic violence incident in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — 

A woman was shot multiple times in an apparent domestic violence incident Wednesday night in Vicksburg, according to eyewitness accounts and radio traffic reports. She was struck 7 times according to radio traffic.

The shooting occurred on Hope Street near Clay Street and the Kar Kleen Washes & Engine facility. Reports indicate the woman was allegedly shot by her boyfriend.

The victim was reported to be alive following the shooting. AirCare was initially called in but was 70 minutes out when the call came in, and the victim is being transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Vicksburg Police Department responded to the scene along with the Vicksburg Fire Department and Fire Medic 80.
