Gunplay leads to one dead on Farmer

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Gunplay has led to one person’s death on Farmer.
At 4:32 a.m., police were alerted to a report of a shooting on Farmer Street in Vicksburg. According to initial reports, a 14-year-old teenager grabbed a gun, the gun discharged and caused a serious injury that he did not survive.
According to Vicksburg Police Chief Larry Burns, a group was gathered in the home when the incident occurred. Several of those individuals were taken in for questioning related to the event.
One person in the home was treated for a medical episode related to the event.
Chief Burns stated that the VPD is in the early stages of the investigation. More information will be provided when it is pertinent.
