Three Vicksburg firefighters earn paramedic certification; Riggs receives excellence award
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Three Vicksburg residents have graduated from the paramedic program at Holmes Community College.
Jeff Riggs, Hanna Anderson and Chase Nielsen officially completed the program on Thursday, according to a social media announcement from the Vicksburg Fire Department.
Riggs was also recognized during the ceremony with the program’s Award of Excellence.

Riggs, Anderson and Nielsen were three of 11 graduates in this year’s class. Holmes Community College’s Paramedic Program prepares nationally registered emergency medical technicians for advanced roles in emergency medicine.
The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in collaboration with the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions.
