Flash dedication for the first day of school
As the Vicksburg Catholic School started the day to welcome students for the fist day of school, many students were left to think outside of the box on how to get to the campus.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — As the Vicksburg Catholic School started the day to welcome students for the fist day of school, many students were left to think outside of the box on how to get to the campus.
With an oil spill closing down the I-20 bridge from. Louisiana into Mississippi, some VCS students were left stranded on the other side of the river, but they didn’t let a little water stand in their way.
A boat driven by Chris Maxwell was recruited to help two seniors make their way across the Mighty Mississippi and arrive on time for their first day of school.
In a social media post, the school said, “With the bride closure throwing a wrench in eveyone’s morning commute, some of our Louisiana Flashes took a boat across the Mississippi Ricer just to make it to school for the first day!”
The school also bragged about the dedication of the students.
“We couldn’t be prouder of the determination and commitment these students showed to be here. Nothing-not even a river- can keep a Flash from showing up,” stated the social media post.
