William “Bobo” Allen Hester 1951-2026
William Allen Hester, born May 2, 1951, passed away on August 13, 2026. He is remembered by his family and friends, with a celebration of life scheduled for August 17 at First Pentecostal Church in Vicksburg, MS.
William Allen Hester entered this life on May 2, 1951 and departed this earthly life on August 13, 2026.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Elizabeth and his parents, Alton and Irene Hester, his sisters, Helen Jones Tankersly and Diane Jacobs Comeaux.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Transica; his brother, Gary (Sandy); and his sisters, Beverly Laird (Ronnie) and Tina Abney (Dean). He also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews and 26 great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory and the love he shared with them.
Allen was a proud graduate of Warren Central High School. Later in life, he returned to school and earned his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. His dedication to continuing his education was a testament to his determination, perseverance, and lifelong love of learning.
Pallbearers will be Gary Hester, Corey Abney, Marvin Ashley, Mark Hughes, Jeff Hamm and Dave Stokes.
His going-home celebration will be held on Monday, August 17, at First Pentecostal Church, 6541 Paxton Road, Vicksburg, MS. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at the City Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Elizabeth.
