Adria Burrell named to All-Gulf South Conference Team

MONTEVALLO, Ala.(VDN) — Adria Burrell, a track and field standout at the University of West Alabama, has been named to the All-Gulf South Conference team.

Burrell was among several UWA athletes recognized, including Kilya Lucien, Hayley Cook-Graham, Jocelyn Randle, Dedric Hicks, Tyrie Payne and J’Da Williams.

Burrell earned All-GSC honors for her role on the Tigers’ 4×400-meter relay team. In February, she helped the relay team capture a gold medal with a first-place finish and a time of 3 minutes, 57.18 seconds.

Over the weekend, the freshman also helped the 4×100-meter relay team claim first place with a time of 46.47 seconds. She added a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.92 seconds.
