Alcorn’s Malachi Bailey Declares for the NFL Draft

Alcorn State University football player Malachi Bailey has announced that he will declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. Malachi finished the 2024 season with 54 tackles, 9.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries at the defensive lineman position.

Bailey’s Statement:

First and foremost, I want to thank God for allowing me to play the sport I love for so many years I’m grateful for the connections I’ve made, the places I’ve been, and for God’s constant presence throughout my journey.

To my coaches, thank you for believing in me from the very beginning to the very end.

Coach Thomas, thank you for encouraging me to chase my dreams every single day and for instilling in me the mindset to be a winner- not just in football, but in life.

Coach Cov, thank you for pushing me beyond my limits, helping me become the best version of myself, both on and off the field. Coach Ro, thank you for putting me in positions to succeed and for your unwavering belief in my potential.

To my teammates, I can’t thank God enough for bringing such amazing individuals into my life. The memories we’ve made together are ones I will cherish forever. I pray that each of you finds success in your future endeavors
and achieves even greater things in life.

To myself:Everything you’ve been
through has prepared you for this moment. Remember to keep God first and know
that nothing worth having comes easy.
Stay the course, stay focused, and continue to trust the process. With that being said,
I am officially declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
