Another Vehicle Stolen from El Sombrero Parking Lot in Vicksburg
VICKSBURG, MS – Another vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of El Sombrero in Vicksburg last night just before 8 p.m.
Stolen was a white 1992 GMC Sierra C1500 belonging to Jarret Heriard. In a post on social media, Heriard said, “Last night around 7:45 (11/4/24), my truck was stolen while I was inside eating at El Sombrero. I have tons of hours invested in building this truck for me and my kids to enjoy. I cannot explain the amount of pain, anger, and disbelief I felt walking out of the restaurant to an empty parking spot that held something I put so much blood and sweat into.” Here is a video of the event:
Heriard is offering a reward for the return of his vehicle, saying, “If anyone reading this has any information or whereabouts on my truck, please let me know. The video [above] shows it turning East bound out of the parking lot around 7:50pm. Please be on the lookout and if found please reach out (601)529-1460.”
$500 REWARD TO WHOEVER CAN HELP RECOVER THE TRUCK.

One Vehicle Stolen in the County Since September 1
Sheriff Pace responded to the Vicksburg Daily News’ request for information, reporting that four vehicles were initially reported stolen since September 1.
According to investigators, three of the vehicles reported stolen in the county during this period had extenuating circumstances that did not constitute theft.
On October 22, a vehicle was reported stolen on Highway 61 South at the county line. The complainant said their vehicle had broken down on Highway 61 just inside the county line. When they went back the next day, the vehicle was gone.
Break-Ins
During this time period, countless items have also been stolen from unlocked vehicles in the city and county. According to Sheriff Pace, the number one thing you can do to prevent items being stolen from you vehicle is to lock your door. “Help us help you. Lock your vehicle,” said Pace in a report from 2022.
