Archer receives first football scholarship offers

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg High School offensive lineman Shaun Archer Jr. has received scholarship offers from both Mississippi Valley State and Alcorn State University, according to the school’s coaching staff.

Archer, a rising senior, plays on the offensive line under Head Coach Christopher Lacey. He started at offensive tackle for the Gators last season and was named to the All-District Team after helping lead the offense to both a 1,000-yard rusher and a 1,000-yard passer.

This spring, the lineman is continuing to develop under the guidance of position coach Andre Bennett as training ramps up.

Although he has received offers to play at the next level, Archer has not yet committed to a program.
