Arthur Davis and Dallas West named Vicksburg High School Athletes of the Year

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Arthur Davis and Dallas West were named the 2026 Vicksburg Athletes of the Year during the school’s athletic banquet Tuesday night, where both students earned multiple awards for their accomplishments.

West excelled in three sports this season and made an impact in each program. She was named the best defensive player on the soccer team, the volleyball team’s Defensive Player of the Year and the MVP of the flag football team.

West also helped all three teams reach postseason play.

Davis starred in both soccer and tennis during his senior year. As the soccer team’s goalkeeper, he recorded nearly 200 saves and recently signed a scholarship with Tougaloo College to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level.

In tennis, Davis earned the team’s Gator Award.
