Blood, platelet donors urgently needed
Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) is making an urgent appeal for blood donors as the blood supply remains at dangerously low inventory levels.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) is making an urgent appeal for blood donors as the blood supply remains at dangerously low inventory levels, creating an immediate need to replenish the blood supply for local hospitals and the patients they serve.
Donors with A+, A-, B+, B-, O+, and O- blood types are especially encouraged to donate, as these blood types are critically needed to help ensure lifesaving blood products remain available for patients across Mississippi.
To help meet this urgent need, MBS is offering special weekend hours September 12-14 at its Flowood and Oxford donor centers, providing additional opportunities for the community to donate, help rebuild the blood supply and save local lives.
