City issues garbage cart transition update

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The City of Vicksburg has released an update regarding the Waste Management collection of city garbage cans.
Waste Management is responsible for delivering the new garbage carts, and the City is using the same contractor to collect the old carts. The original plan was for both to happen at the same time. Waste Management has since advised that collection of the old cans cannot begin until delivery of the new carts is complete.
To help move the process along, City crews are assisting with collection of old carts where possible. Please make sure your cart is outside until collected. We understand the inconvenience and appreciate residents’ patience as we work to complete this transition as quickly as possible.
