Brooke Bumgarner Wins 2nd Runner Up in Miss America’s Teen

ORLANDO, Florida – Mississippi’s Brooke Bumgarner won 2nd runner up tonight at the Miss America’s Teen competition in Orlando.

Bumgarner, who is from Madison, placed third overall behind 1st Runner Up, Ali Mims, Miss Alabama, and your new Miss America’s Teen, Peyton Bolling, Miss Arkansas. The week long competition was held at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, Florida.

Bumgarner was competing all week and made the final five along with delegates from Texas, Alabama, Arkansas and New Jersey. In the talent portion Bumgarner sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” At Madison Central she was student Body President, a member of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, Reveille Show Choir, Mystix Dance Team, and was named Homecoming Queen and Miss Madison Central High School.

As Miss Mississippi’s Teen, Bumgarner social initiative program was Bullying Prevention and Character Education. She emphasized exuding and exemplifying positive character traits. Her program works to help young people via seminars and educational activities.

About the Miss America Organization

The Miss America and Miss America’s Teen organization are one of the nation’s largest providers of scholarship assistance to young women. The competition for Miss Mississippi is held every year in Vicksburg at the Vicksburg Convention Center. The Miss Mississippi Organization is the number one fundraiser for scholarships in the Miss America Organization.
