Brycen Jones scored 22 points for Hartfield in last week’s win
FLOWOOD, Miss. (VDN) — Brycen Jones, a Vicksburg native and Hartfield Academy basketball standout, delivered a season-high 22 points last week to help the Hawks roll to a 68–35 victory over Christ Covenant. The junior’s breakout performance marked his highest single-game scoring total of the season and continued his strong start in his first year with the HA program.
Jones has been a key contributor throughout Hartfield’s early success. The Hawks are now 7–1, bolstered by Jones’ consistency on the offensive end. Prior to last week’s season-high effort, he scored 20 points against Yazoo County, 16 points against Holmes County Central, 18 points against Clinton Christian Academy, 15 points against Silliman Institute, 12 points against Parklane Academy and 11 points in a win over Pillow Academy.
As a first-year player in the program, Jones has quickly carved out an important role in the Hawks’ rotation. His scoring, steady leadership and ability to show up in big moments have helped Hartfield maintain momentum through the early portion of the season.
Hartfield Academy will look to keep its strong start going this week as the Hawks prepare to face Madison St. Joseph and Cathedral.
