Warren Central rolls to a 43-31 road win over Yazoo County; Missy Gators fall to Forest Hill
YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School’s girls’ basketball team earned its second straight victory Thursday night with a 43-31 road win over Yazoo County. The Lady Vikes put together a balanced scoring effort, finishing with three players in double figures.
Camara Evans led Warren Central with 12 points, while both Shaniya Lewis and Arrionna Jenkins added 11 apiece. Keasia Williams contributed seven points, and Ka’Ryn Henderson scored two to round out the effort.
Warren Central’s defense held strong throughout the night, helping secure the double-digit win. Yazoo County was led by LaDashia Taylor, who finished with 13 points. Ankaysha Henderson added nine for the Panthers.
Missy Gators:
Across town, Vicksburg High School suffered a 68-46 loss to Forest Hill. Despite the defeat, the Missy Gators saw two players reach double figures. Jada Erwin and Nakia Jeffers each scored 10 points to lead Vicksburg.
Madisyn Kimble followed with seven points, and Jordan Grace finished with six. Kenley Henderson scored five points, while Raylyn Parson and Nykeria Watson added two each. Aaliyah Mims chipped in two as well. Jaria Williams and Alaina Williams rounded out the scoring with one point apiece.
Forest Hill was paced by a strong offensive showing. Tori Marshall led all scorers with 16 points, followed by Leaa Jenkins with 14. Aaliyah Johnson scored 13 points, and Destiny King added 10 to help secure the win.
