VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN)-Over a decade after taking over the Vicksburg Junior High School football team, Larry Carter, Jr. is now entering his 14th season as head coach of the Gators.

Carter started off as an assistant in 2006 then took over in 2008 where has had found much success as a head coach.

In 2019, Carter had the highlight season of his career when he led VJHS to a 8-0 record and a Little Six Championship.

The former Warren Central High School and Howard University standout has laid his knowledge on all of his players throughout his time at VJHS and is currently preparing his team for the upcoming season which will kickoff this month.

The Gators are mixed with a variety of seventh and eighth graders that are hungry for a win.
