Porter’s Chapel Academy’s baseball season came to an end on Thursday after falling short 9-8 against Newton County in game two of the series.

The Eagles made a sixth inning comeback where they scored five runs to tie the game at eight but NC pulled away one run in the final inning to advance to the second round. Conley Johnston and Chase Hearn both had one hit and two RBIs in the loss and John Wyatt Massey struck out five batters.

PCA went 18-12 this season under head coach Rob Riggin. They will lose a total of seven seniors this year who have all contributed heavily to the team’s success.
