Cedric Tillman has spent more than two decades telling the stories of others through the lens of a camera. On Saturday night, the Vicksburg Homecoming Benevolent Club turned the spotlight on him.

Tillman, owner of Paradise Production, was named the Business of the Year during the club’s 51st annual banquet. The award is presented annually to a deserving business that has reached beyond its doors by making outstanding contributions to the betterment of the community and the well-being of its citizens.

For years, Tillman has preserved some of Vicksburg’s most memorable moments, documenting everything from graduations and athletic championships to community celebrations and milestone events. His work has allowed families, students and residents to relive achievements that might otherwise have been lost to time.

Since joining the Vicksburg Warren School District in 2006, Tillman has served as a videographer, photojournalist and multimedia communications specialist. He produces coverage of graduations, convocations, athletic programs and community events while also leading live productions as a producer and director. He is also responsible for live streaming football games and many of the district’s largest events, helping connect families and community members who cannot attend in person.

Before joining the school district, Tillman worked as a videographer and photojournalist for the City of Vicksburg, documenting public events and municipal programming.

His career also includes serving as cable operations manager at Alcorn State University, where he managed ASU-TV Channel 13, coordinated programming and trained students in studio production and editing. He began his career as a production assistant at WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg, developing skills in camera operation, audio production and live news broadcasting.

Away from the camera, Tillman has become a familiar voice to Alcorn State football fans. For the past 26 years, he has served as the sideline reporter for WPRL-FM, providing live analysis and interviews with coaches and players while bringing listeners closer to the action every Saturday during football season.

Tillman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications from Alcorn State University and has built a reputation for professionalism, creativity and excellence in visual storytelling.

The Vicksburg Homecoming Benevolent Club’s Business of the Year Award recognizes businesses whose influence extends beyond commerce and into community service. Through Paradise Production and his decades of dedication behind the camera, Tillman has done just that—capturing the stories, accomplishments and memories that continue to inspire generations across Vicksburg.
