Chamber/Hinds leadership training series to start April 7

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg-Warren Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Hinds Community College, is launching a four-part professional development series designed to enhance leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

The training will be held on Mondays from April 7 through April 28, at the Vicksburg Chamber of Commerce, 1622 Washington, Suite 221. Registration for the leadership training is $100.

Each two-hour session will feature an interactive presentation on a key leadership topic, followed by small group discussions where participants can apply concepts to real-world scenarios. Topics covered during the series include:

  1. Difficult Conversations – Based on Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High by Joseph Grenny, Kerry Patterson, Ron McMillan, Al Switzler, and Emily Gregory.
  2. Effective Team Building – Based on Overcoming the Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni.
  3. Appreciation in the Workplace – Based on The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace by Gary Chapman and Gary White.
  4. Customer Service – Based on The New Gold Standard: 5 Leadership Principles for Creating a Legendary Customer Experience by Joseph A. Michelli.

Participants who complete all four sessions will receive a Professional Certificate from Hinds Community College, recognizing their commitment to enhancing their leadership skills.
