‘The Return of the King’ and free popcorn at the Strand, Mar. 2

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Strand Theatre will host a screening of the final chapter of The Lord of the Rings trilogy with The Return of the King on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 4 p.m. The screening is sponsored by Rich and Jennifer Smith, who previously presented The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers at the Strand.

The final installment of Peter Jackson’s acclaimed adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic follows Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, and the rest of the Fellowship in their ultimate battle against Sauron. As armies clash for the fate of Middle-earth, Frodo and Sam press forward on their perilous quest to destroy the One Ring. The Return of the King won 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Tickets are $10 each ($9 in advance at Highway 61 Coffeehouse). As always, the popcorn is free. The Strand Theatre is located at 717 Clay St. in downtown Vicksburg.
