Claiborne County Woman Killed in Head-On Collision

PORT GIBSON, MS. – A Claiborne County Woman was killed in a head-on collision yesterday. On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision on MS-547 near Mount Pleasant Rd. in Claiborne County. 

 A 2013 Infiniti Q70 sedan driven by 44-year-old Shenetra W. Johnson of Pattison, MS, was traveling northbound on MS-547. A 2003 Nissan Frontier driven by 39-year-old Yefri W. Castillo-Sierra of Metairie, LA, was traveling southbound on MS-547. Both vehicles collided head-on in the collision. A Claiborne County woman, Shenetra W. Johnson, received fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Yefri W. Castillo-Sierra was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, with serious injuries.

This collision remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The Vicksburg Daily News will update any additional information here, when and if it comes available.
