Code Red to phase out June 15

VICKSBURG, MISS. (VDN) — The City of Vicksburg has announced the phasing out of the current Code Red system as well as the city’s texting service, beginning June 15, 2025.
Going forward, Hyper-Reach will be the only system used to send official alerts from the City of
Vicksburg, the city said in a press release.
This change is part of a transition to simplify and enhance the City’s emergency notification
process. Hyper-Reach provides a single, reliable platform to deliver urgent information,
including severe weather warnings, road closures, public safety emergencies, and important
community announcements.
Bill Ford, Alert System Manager for the City of Vicksburg, explained, “After June 15, if you are
not signed up for Hyper-Reach, you will no longer receive any alerts from the City. Hyper-Reach
is the only platform we will use going forward. This upgrade ensures faster, more effective
communication with our residents and visitors.”
Residents and businesses must enroll in Hyper-Reach to continue receiving alerts. Registration is
quick and easy:
- Visit www.hyper-reach.com/vicksburgsignup
- Or text “Alerts” to 601-202-4767
