WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — A Warren County man has been arrested and charged with the statutory rape of a child under the age of 16 following an investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, WCSO Investigators, led by Investigator Dusty Keyes, were investigating a case involving an adult who had sex with a child under the age of 16. That investigation identified a suspect as 25-year-old Shane Anthony Standish of Warren County.
A warrant was issued for his arrest and a BOLO (be on the lookout) was released to locate Standish.
Just before 8:30 a.m. on May 24, Deputies Drew Clemts and Milton Goza spotted the vehicle Standish was driving on Highway 61 North, just south of the Warren–Issaquena County line. He was taken into custody without incident.
Standish has been charged with statutory rape of a child under the age of 16 and appeared before Judge Randy Lewis on May 27, where his bond was set at $100,000. Judge Lewis also issued a court order requiring Standish to wear an ankle monitor should he post bond.
Sheriff Pace, citing the confidentiality of this type of investigation would not give any further details, other than to say the child in question was an acquaintance of Standish.
