Columbia Academy beats St. Aloysius 12-2 to take series lead

Columbia, Miss.(VDN) — Game one of the second round of the playoffs between St. Aloysius and Columbia Academy ended after five innings. The Flashes took a loss to CA 12-2 and will need a win on Thursday to force a game three.

The Cougars earned the first run in the opening inning when Buckley scored from an error. Clark Hobson helped tie the game at 1-1 in the second after hitting an RBI. 

St. Aloysius wouldn’t get back on the board until the fifth inning when William Roberson hit a ground ball that sent Sadler Lambiotte running to home play. By the time St. Al got their second run, Columbia Academy already had an 8-run lead and eventually took home the win. 

Carson Smith, Walt Andrews, Lambiotte, and Roberson(1 RBI) ended the game with one hit. Hobson hit one RBI while Evan Mallard struck out one batter.
