CLEARWATER, Fl. (VDN) — Martin “Trey” Brown defeated Saul Almeida in a boxing fight over the weekend. The Vicksburg native won the fight in a 4-round unanimous decision.

“I honestly try not to look at the wins because I have my mind set on the overall goal which is creating a legacy and earning a title fight,” Brown said. “I want to be remembered as a guy who can fight but I also want to go down in history as a person who came from a place where this type of stuff doesn’t happen.”

The fight was hosted by StarFight Productions in Clearwater, Florida. Last week’s win put Brown’s boxing record at 6-0. Before defeating Almeida, Brown’s last fight was against Enoch Adonai where he knocked him out in the first round on his 40th birthday.

In Saturday’s win, Brown managed to knock Almeida to the floor in the third round before finishing him off in the fourth.

Now that Brown has maintained his undefeated record in boxing, he has his eyes set on a title fight. He is a two-time Mix Martial Arts Champion and a World Title Contender in the BKFC(Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship).

In December 2021, Brown wore Alcorn State gear for his televised fight which went viral over the internet. Millions witnessed someone supporting an HBCU. That same night, he defeated Bobby Taylor on Pay-per-view. In the following year, Mayor George Flaggs Jr. presented him with a Key to the City.
