Megan Theriot, Marley Gibellino, Raigen Smith, Caroline Ponder named St. Aloysius Flashette captains

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Megan Theriot, Marley Gibellino, Raigen Smith and Caroline Ponder have been selected as captains of the St. Aloysius High School Flashette Dance Team after spending their entire high school careers with the program.
The four senior leaders will serve under Head Coach Chesley Lambiotte as they guide one of the state’s most successful dance programs. The Flashettes are 11-time state champions who captured first-place finishes in the Small Varsity Game Day and Kick divisions in 2025. Last month, the team also earned another bid to nationals.
Theriot said being named a captain is a dream she has patiently waited to achieve.
“I’m really excited, and it’s an honor because I get to work with my three best friends, and we’re going to make it fun,” Theriot said.
During her time with the Flashettes, Theriot has earned Team MVP, All-American, Rookie of the Year and Riding Star Award honors. She is also a standout athlete for St. Aloysius in softball, soccer, basketball and track and field.
Theriot is the daughter of Craig and Alicia Theriot.
Gibellino said she is looking forward to helping lead a talented group that includes several new dancers.
“I’m really excited for the year, and we have a lot of new girls, so we’re excited for Friday Night Lights,” Gibellino said.
Gibellino has been dancing since she was 3 years old and is a two-time All-American as a Flashette. She plans to attend Mississippi State University after graduation and is the daughter of Kelly Copes.
Smith believes the Flashettes have the potential to enjoy one of their strongest seasons yet.
“I feel like this team is going to do great, and we’re going to push them to their limits,” Smith said.
Smith, who began dancing at age 3, was recently named an All-American and has also received the Heart of a Flash Award. She plans to attend cosmetology school after high school and is the daughter of Philip and Juanita Smith.
Ponder said she is excited about the team’s future and believes the senior class is ready to lead another successful campaign.
“I feel great, and we all have great accomplishments, and this senior year will be the best,” Ponder said.
Ponder has been dancing since she was 2 years old. During her time with the Flashettes, she has earned All-American honors and received the 12 Years Award and 15 Years Award at River Point Dance Academy. She plans to attend the University of Mississippi and major in education after graduation. She is the daughter of Jackie and Chris Ponder.
