Blackmore, Ringo, Williams and Parson named Vicksburg High football cheer captains

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —

The Vicksburg High School football cheerleading team has announced its captains for the 2026 season, with Cedrionna Blackmore being selected as head captain and Rihanna Ringo, Xaria Williams and Raylyn Parson serving as co-captains. The four leaders will guide the squad under the direction of head coach Aerial Stokes.

Cedrionna Blackmore

Blackmore said she was honored to earn the team’s highest leadership role.

“I feel excited and great because I earned this position,” Blackmore said.

As head captain, Blackmore said her goal is to lead the team through a memorable football season as kickoff is just over a month away.

Blackmore has been cheering since she was 5 years old, beginning with the Vicksburg Packers. She is now a six-year veteran of the Vicksburg High cheer program. In addition to cheerleading, she is a two-time state champion in powerlifting and competes in track and field.

After graduating, Blackmore plans to continue her cheerleading career at Alcorn State University. She in the daughter of Cedrick and Juliet Blackmore.

Rihanna Ringo

Ringo has been cheering since the eighth grade and has worked her way into a leadership role as co-captain.

“I love the fall weather, Friday Night Lights and cheering for the crowd,” Ringo said.

Ringo said she wants to help the team reach its full potential this season while creating lasting memories. She recently earned All-American honors at the UCA Cheer Camp.

As co-captain, Ringo said her responsibility is to keep the team motivated so that the hard work put in behind the scenes is reflected on Friday nights.

She is the daughter of Ramond and Cassandra Ringo.

Xaria Williams

Williams, another veteran of the program, said being selected as co-captain is the culmination of years of dedication.

“I feel great about this, and I’ve been cheering here since seventh grade, so this is a great accomplishment,” Williams said.

Williams began cheering at age 5 with Gym South before joining the Vicksburg High program. One of her goals for the upcoming season is to master a full-up liberty stunt before the end of the year.

During the summer, Williams won the jump-off competition at UCA Camp and also earned All-American honors.

She is the daughter of Stephanie and Roderick Williams and plans to attend Mississippi State University after graduation.

Raylyn Parson

Parson said becoming a co-captain is something she has worked toward for years.

“I feel amazing, and I’ve been waiting on this since the seventh grade,” Parson said.

Parson said her goal is to help her teammates improve each day and encourage them to become better throughout the season.

A two-sport athlete in cheerleading and track and field, Parson is a two-time All-American cheerleader and brings significant experience to the team’s leadership group.

She is the daughter of Shannon and Raymond Parson.
