Vicksburg native Thomas Antwine named tournament MVP after dominant performance in Knoxville

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — 

Vicksburg native Thomas Antwine was named the Most Valuable Player of the National Amateur Baseball Federation tournament after leading his team to a perfect 7-0 record in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Antwine dominated on the mound throughout the tournament as his team allowed just six total runs in seven games.

On Thursday, the Porter’s Chapel Academy standout pitched a four-inning complete-game no-hitter and shutout in a run-rule victory. He followed that performance on Friday with another complete game, allowing just one hit over four shutout innings in another run-rule win.

In the championship game, Antwine threw a complete game, pitching all seven innings while allowing only two runs to help his team complete its undefeated run through the tournament.

For his outstanding performances, Antwine was selected as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player as he continued to pull off some of his best performances throughout the tournament.

Antwine is coming off an impressive junior season at Porter’s Chapel Academy in 2026. He struck out 79 batters while also contributing at the plate with 10 hits and nine RBIs.

The tournament MVP honor adds to an already impressive year for the Vicksburg native as he continues to make his mark on the baseball field.
