Crystal meth found during arrest of Porters Chapel burglary suspect
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A Vicksburg woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary at Porters Chapel Academy and possession of crystal meth, following an investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Pace said.
On April 25, when faculty arrived at Porters Chapel Academy, they discovered that the lock on the field house door had been cut and several items were missing.
After reviewing available security footage, Detective Dusty Keyes identified 29-year-old Brandy Hunter of Vicksburg as a suspect.
Further investigation revealed Hunter was staying at a local casino hotel. A warrant was issued for her arrest, and when Detective Keyes and Deputy Joseph Stubbs arrived at her hotel room, they observed an unspecified quantity of crystal meth in plain view.
Hunter was taken into custody and charged with commercial burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
She stood before Judge Jeff Crevitt today and was given a $7,500 bond—$5,000 for the commercial burglary charge and $2,500 for possession of crystal methamphetamine.
