Darius Buck named assistant cornerbacks coach at Liberty University
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Darius Buck, a Vicksburg native, has been named assistant cornerbacks coach at Liberty University. The university announced the hiring over the weekend on social media.
Buck most recently served as defensive coordinator at Southwest Mississippi Community College.
He began his coaching career at Jones College, where he spent two seasons and was part of the 2013 MACJC Staff of the Year. Buck later joined the University of South Alabama as a graduate assistant, working with defensive backs and special teams for two years.
He went on to coach cornerbacks and the punt return unit at Albany State University before serving as defensive coordinator at Clark Atlanta University for three seasons.
Buck also spent three years at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where he was part of the 2023 MACCC Staff of the Year.
A 2008 graduate of Warren Central High School, Buck played defensive back under coach Curtis Brewer. As a senior, he recorded four interceptions and 47 tackles while leading the team’s secondary.
