VICKSBURG, MS. – Vicksburg High School football player DeCorey Knight Jr. dominated in last Friday’s game against Forest Hill.

In the 28-23 loss, DeCorey Knight ran for 169 yards on 12 carries. He also scored three touchdowns from 15 and 68-yard runs along with a 75-yard kick return. Knight also scored an early touchdown that was called back for a penalty.

Last Friday, Knight had plenty of help from his offensive line which consisted of Ashe’ton Gray, Mickell Jones, Willie Edmond, Darius Stamps, Shaun Archer Jr., Jayden Woods, and Thomas Hardimon.

Knight is a three-year starter who racked up over 1,000 all-purpose yards in each of his varsity years as a Gator. He is under the leadership of Head Coach Christopher Lacey.

DeCorey Knight Jr. has been a significant asset to the Gator football program. Starting as running back since his sophomore year, Knight played a crucial role in VHS reaching North State in 2022 and the postseason in 2023.

VHS will host Natchez on Friday.
