Diane Comeaux: 1953-2025
VICKSBURG, Miss. — Diane was born on December 6, 1953, in Vicksburg, MS. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 29, 2025. She was the daughter of Irene Long and Alton Hester.
Diane loved her family, enjoyed singing when she could, and she liked to use the phrase: “Rode in on a tornado”. There are so many words to describe Diane. Mom, wife, sister, grandmother. Karaoke Master. She had a profound impact on everyone she met. She was sassy and outspoken, and made the best vegetable beef soup in two states. She had a love for music and food, but mostly she loved people.
She spent most of her adult life living and loving life in her beloved New Orleans, but always called Vicksburg “home”. Her family was her most prized possession even when they didn’t see eye to eye.
She is proceeded in Death by her parents; Alton Hester and Irene Blanche Long, and her sister Helen Hester Jones Tankersley. She is survived by her husband, Kerry Valentine Comeaux, sons James Steven Tucker (Jamie)-(Angela), Matthew Daniel E Tucker, and Brandon Comeaux (Heather). One daughter Shirley Jean Summers (Bill). Two brothers Allen Hester and Gary Hester (Sandra). Two sisters Beverly Laird (Ronnie), and Tina Hester Abney (Dean). 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday July 5, 2025, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service, the service itself will be at 10 a.m. in the Glenwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Tucker, Bill Summers, Garett Hester, Dean Abney, Blake Moore, John St. Clair and Richard Kerns. Service will be handled by Pastor Dathan Tipton, under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
