Flashes sweep Christ Covenant on Senior Night; WC defeats Canton

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The St. Aloysius High School baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep over Christ Covenant on Senior Night, winning 19-9 and 13-3.

In Game 1, the Flashes totaled 14 hits in the 19-9 victory. JT Smith led the way with two hits and five RBIs. Mason Bourne recorded two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Cohen Coomes, Keller Bradley (one triple) and William Roberson each finished with two hits and one RBI. Walt Andrews added one hit and two RBIs, while Sadler Lambiotte had one hit and one RBI. Bryce Shows and Brandon Babb also contributed one hit apiece.

Coomes earned the win on the mound, striking out eight batters. Max Hargrave and Shows each recorded one strikeout in relief.

In Game 2, St. Aloysius collected six hits in the 13-3 win. JT Smith hit a double, while Robert Lee led the offense with two hits and three RBIs. William Roberson added two hits, including a triple, and one RBI. Pierson Smith also had one hit.

Emerson Blackburn picked up the win, striking out five batters.

St. Aloysius improved to 15-9 on the season under head coach Jay Harper.

Warren Central:

Warren Central defeated Canton 19-2. Justin Greer(2 RBIs) and Charlie Roberts(4 RBIs) each hit one double. Tristan Jamison( 2 RBIs) hit a triple while Trace Hood(1 RBI), Blake Caruthers(1 RBI), Jacob Kealhofer, and Beau Bradley all had one hit. Jacob Channell, Brooks Broome, and Presley DeRossette all had one RBI.

Braxton Hartley struck out seven batters in the win.
