Lady Vikes clinch home playoff game with late touchdowns

“I feel very ecstatic about today’s win because we worked really hard to get here, and to be able to have a home playoff game is special,” quarterback Ka’Ryn Henderson said.

The hard-fought contest was dominated by defense, as neither team scored until the final five minutes. Keasia Williams set the tone early for Warren Central with an interception.

Late in the second half, Henderson connected with Madison Ward on a 25-yard touchdown pass to give the Lady Vikes a 6-0 lead. Shortly after, Camara Evans returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown to extend the lead to 12-0.

Ward added another interception just before the end of the game to seal the victory.

Warren Central improved to 4-0 and will travel to Gentry next week.
