Free popcorn and sci-fi thrills with Blade Runner 2049 at the Strand
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Strand Theatre will host a screening of Blade Runner 2049 on Saturday, July 26 at 7 p.m., sponsored by Paul and Luanne Salgado.
The film is a sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner. Set 30 years after the original, Blade Runner 2049 follows LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), who unearths a long-buried secret that threatens to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. His investigation leads him to Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who’s been missing for three decades.
To better understand the events leading up to the sequel, viewers can watch three official short films that bridge the timeline between the original and 2049: Blade Runner Prequels.
Advance tickets are available for $9 at Highway 61 Coffeehouse and will be $10 at the door, and as always, popcorn is free.
The Strand is located at 717 Clay Street in downtown Vicksburg.
