Friends of the Animal Shelter need you!

The Friends of the Vicksburg Animal Shelter are reaching out to the community for help. In a release, they said:

Our shelter is coming along, and the estimated completion date is January 2024. We are blessed to have been gifted the building by Mr. Earnest Thomas and are thankful that The City of Vicksburg held to its promise to give us a better animal shelter.

This shelter will provide a more efficient use of space, better quality of life for the animals, disease resistant, easier to clean, and safer for the staff.

The Mission of The Friends is to support all the needs of the Vicksburg Animal Shelter.

The current cages for the animals are dated and not efficient. Therefore, The Friends’ goal is to purchase new cages for the brand-new shelter with your help and support. The cages most needed are for the cat rooms. They are incredibly expensive and approximately 38 cages are needed. The approximate cost of each cage is $3,000.

We are reaching out to you and the community for your support to make this facility one to be proud of in Vicksburg.
