A Monday night Hinds County homicide victim is the brother of a woman killed and dismembered in the Mississippi Delta in 2019.

April Jones was killed and dismembered in 2019 in Quitman County.

According to Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart, Blake Grisham, 37, was shot Monday night. Grisham is the brother of April Jones, who disappeared in October 2019 in Quitman County along with her friend Will Polk. Some of Polk’s remains were found, but April never has been. Keith Coleman Jr. and Jayme Lynn Tubbs are both serving life sentences in their double murder.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said deputies got the call to 1960 Boyd Road in Utica around 11:25 p.m. When they arrived, Grisham was found dead.

According to friends of Grisham’s family, he had gone to pick his remaining sister up. Her alleged boyfriend, James Hudspeth, 42, was charged with murder. Jones said police believe the two had a fight that resulted in Grisham’s death.
