House fire on Winters Lane, one person suffered smoke inhalation

VICKSBURG, MS – Just before 12 p.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 201 Winters Lane. Upon arrival, they found visible flames and smoke. Additionally, a person suffering from smoke inhalation was treated and transported to Merit Health ER.

Vicksburg Fire Department Engine 9 was first on the scene. Engine 6, Platform 1, Fire Chief Derrick Stamps, Assistant Fire Chief Trey Martin, Rescue Fire Medic Unit, and two Vicksburg Police Department units were also on scene to assist with the fire.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but the house sustained damage.
