VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Kimberly Michelle and Associates has partnered with Vicksburg Warren School District to provide hands-on training and prevention education for students in the Introduction to EMT and Pharmacy Technician programs.

Introduction to EMT students recently participated in Narcan training led by Charlotte Bryant of Stand Up Mississippi. Bryant highlighted Mississippi’s highest overdose rates in Pearl River, Harrison, and Jackson counties and demonstrated how to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses. Students also researched and presented on fentanyl and kratom, exploring their dangers and warning signs.

“Partnerships like this bridge prevention education with career training,” said Kimberly Stevens, Founder and Director of Kimberly Michelle and Associates. “Students gain the knowledge and responsibility needed to serve their community effectively.”

Monica Watson, Career Coach at Vicksburg High School, added, “The information was scary, but necessary. Our students need to understand the seriousness of what’s happening so they can be prepared to save lives.”

Meanwhile, the Pharmacy Technician class welcomed Dr. Ja’Merica Dixon, a licensed pharmacist, who spoke on the responsibilities of the role and patient safety. Through interactive games, students learned to spot errors in medication labels and prescriptions, reinforcing the importance of accuracy and accountability in pharmacy work.

These initiatives demonstrate how the district, in collaboration with Kimberly Michelle and Associates, is preparing students not just for certification, but for real-world healthcare challenges equipping them with skills, ethical awareness, and a sense of community responsibility.
