Lady Flashes crushed Tensas Academy 15-2 in their home opener
St. Aloysius softball team dominated Tensas Academy 15-2 on Monday in their home opener.
A triple along with a sacrifice got TA on the board first as they went up 1-0. The Lady Flashes responded well after a two-run double by Ruthie Britton as well as an RBI from Presley Brister to take the 3-1 lead.
Kyleigh Cooper sent three straight batters back to the dugout in the second while St. Al earned their fourth run after Kennadi Blassingame stole home plate. Cooper left the game in the second after an injury.
The third inning was a true blessing for St. Al as they added six runs when Mallory Spencer hit a double while Madison Spencer(2), Brister, Madelyn Kavanaugh(RBI), Blassingame, Mageigh Haller, Addie G. Clay, and Britton all collected singles to put the Lady Flashes up 10-1.Â
St. Al added another five runs in the fifth when Kavanaugh hit a triple and Madison Spencer smashed a two-run single while Blassingame hit another RBI.
Madison Spencer went 3 for 3 with two RBIs while Britton finished with two hits and four RBIs. Mageigh Haller went 2 for 3 at the plate while Blassingame(2 RBI), Kavanaugh(2 RBI), Brister(1 RBI), Mallory Spencer(1 RBI), Cooper and Clay(1 RBI) all had one hit.
Cooper and Mallory both struck out two batters each.
St. Al is now 5-3 on the year and they will host Tallulah Academy on Tuesday.
