Lady Flashes open district with shutout win over Copiah Academy

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The St. Aloysius girls’ soccer team picked up a district win over Copiah Academy in an 8-0 shutout Monday night. The game, held at Farrell Stadium, is another example of the tried and true home field advantage.

Leading the Flashes to their shutout win over Copiah was Samantha Edwards, scoring three goals, two of which came from corner kicks. Sara Smith, Frances Ferrell, Evie Gattle, Audrey Grace Newman(1 assist), and Mary Ruth Montgomery(1 assist) all scored one goal. Smith and Elle Larson both had a blank sheet while Lynlee McMillin and Taryn Lusby both added an assist.

The Lady Flashes will travel to play Adams County Christian on Wednesday.
