Lady Flashes took a 7-6 loss to ACCS
St. Aloysius Flashes took a 7-6 loss to Adams County Christian School on Monday.
The score remained tied zero throughout the first inning after Mageigh Haller caught a beauty in the outfield. ACCS got their first two runs in the second after Aucoin hit a fly ball.
The Lady Flashes were able to tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the second after Megan Theriot hit a triple which was followed by a single from Madison Spencer. RBIs from Drane and Ray put the Lady Rebels up 4-2 heading into the fourth.
By the fifth, St. Al narrowed the game to 4-3 after Kennadi Blassingame hit a double and Madison Spencer singled to bring in another run. ACCS picked up three more late runs which included two home runs to take the 7-3 lead.
In the seventh and final inning, Theriot smashed a double just before Madison Spencer hit a three-run inside-the-park home run to put the game at 7-6. The Lady Flashes weren’t able to gain another run as they took a district loss.
Blassingame went 3 for 3 at the plate. Madison Spencer hit four RBIs and went 3 for 4 at the plate. Theriot went 2 for 3 and also hit an RBI. Mageigh Haller also had one hit in the Flashes loss.
Eighth Grader Mallory Spencer held her own on the mound as she kept the game tight and struck out five batters.
St. Al will host Simpson Academy on Thursday.
