Lady Vikes shut out VHS in district win

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School’s softball team shut out Vicksburg High School 18-0 in a district matchup on Tuesday. The Lady Vikes ended the game in the fifth inning via run rule, improving their record to 7-10 on the season.

After three consecutive walks, Kennadi Williams hit a two-run double to put Warren Central on the board. Addi Mullen followed with an RBI single to give the Lady Vikes a 3-0 lead by the end of the first inning.
In the second inning, Williams hit another two-run double, and Anzley Keen added a two-run double of her own. Mary Clell Allred and KK Williamson contributed RBI singles as Warren Central extended its lead to 10-0.

The Lady Vikes added six more runs in the third inning, highlighted by RBIs from Mullen, Ferguson and McKay. Walks by Allred, Sydney Hern and Williamson helped keep the momentum. Williamson sealed the win in the fourth with a two-run single.
Williams (4 RBIs) and Allred (2 RBIs) each went 3-for-3 at the plate. Williamson, Mullen, and Keen each had two hits and two RBIs. McKay, Pant and Ferguson each recorded one hit and one RBI.
Maddy Pant pitched a complete game, allowing no runs and striking out six in the shut out.

For Vicksburg, Harmony Harris, Lily Kistler and Trinity McGloster each had one hit.
