Leon Davis: 1959-2025

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Funeral services for Leon Davis are to be held on Saturday April 26 in the Greater Grove Street M. B. Church at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Casey D. Fisher officiating; interment shall follow in the Cypress Gardens Cemetery in Yazoo City, MS.  Visitation will be held on Friday April 25 in the funeral home from 5 till 6 p.m.

Leon Davis passed away on Sunday April 13 following a sudden illness.  He was 66.  He worked for Falco Lime Co. as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Matilda Ree Wilson Davis, Sr. his brothers Frank Davis, Jr, James Allen, Henry Davis, his sister Willie Louise Porter, Ollie Mae Thigpen, and Frankie Marie Davis.

He is survived by his brother Lamar Davis, his sisters Bernice “Sister” Davis, Rosemary Davis, Geneva Davis Porter, Marylean Davis McClain, Geraldine Davis Jackson, Valarie Star Davis,  Annie Davis and Rosemary Alfonso and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
