VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A long-anticipated low-cost spay and neuter clinic for Vicksburg and Warren County is now one step closer to reality, thanks to a new partnership between local advocate Dianne Gargaro and the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce.

According to Gargaro, the Chamber has agreed to allow the clinic fundraising effort to operate under its 501(c)(3) umbrella.

“Great news, Vicksburg/Warren County!” Gargaro shared in a social media post. “The Chamber of Commerce has agreed to let me get under their 501(c)(3) umbrella and raise funds for a future low-cost spay and neuter clinic. It starts now.”

Donations may be made by check payable to the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce Community Fund, with the memo line specifying “Vicksburg/Warren County Low-Cost Neuter Clinic.” Checks can be mailed to 1622 Washington St., Suite 201, Vicksburg, MS 39180 (inside the MCity building) or delivered to Gargaro directly at 301 McAuley Drive, Vicksburg, MS 39183.

“Thank you for all the prayers to get this going and let’s make it happen,” said Gargaro. “It will take some time to get enough together to even start making plans, but I do want to request the services of someone who can write grants, and if anyone is an architect and would like to help us draw up some plans, it would be fantastic.”

The current location for the low-cost spay and neuter clinic is planned to be inside the warehouse of the new city animal shelter.
