VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Two trial dates have been scheduled for Malcolm Ward, a Vicksburg man for multiple charges related to sex crimes against children. Ward, 32-years-old, faces six felony counts—four of sexual battery and two of child molestation.

Ward appeared in court last week before Judge James Chaney, where it was determined he will face two separate trials due to the involvement of multiple victims. The first trial is set to begin in July, while the second trial will be held in December.

He has been held at the Warren County Jail since his initial arrest on December 20, 2023. His arrest was carried out by Investigator Stacy Rollison, with Detective Erich Jerschied serving as the lead investigator on the case.

In August of 2024, Judge Cheney denied Ward’s request of a bond reduction, which was set at $900,000.

Branan Southerland will prosecute on behalf of the state. If convicted on all counts, Ward could face up to four life sentences plus an additional 30 years in prison.
