VICKSBURG, Miss. — Lois Robey passed away Sunday, Mar. 9, 2025. She was 83 years of age. Mrs. Robey was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John Miller and Laura Miller.

Mrs. Robey earned a degree in nursing and enjoyed a fulfilling career in Vicksburg for many years, including as a nurse for the Warren Central High School Big Blue Band. She also dedicated more than 20 years as a member of the auxiliary at River Region Health System, where she assisted patients, families, and visitors.

Mrs. Robey was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years, where she volunteered and contributed to many missions, including Meals on Wheels and Nan’s Needles, a prayer shawl ministry.

Mrs. Robey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her family and numerous friends. Her unwavering faith, boundless selflessness, and indomitable spirit were and will continue to be a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She always placed the needs of others above her own.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Donald Robey, and a sister, Shirley Hoopert.

Mrs. Robey is survived by three daughters, Karen Young (fiancé Keith Treybig), Pamela Lynch (Joel); Marcia Maynord; and two sons, Brian (Karen) and Scott (Amy); nine grandchildren, Laura Robey Schroeder, Alex Maynord (Mary Katherine), Melissa Robey Ervine (Tyler), Dylan Robey, Julia Young, Brandon Maynord (Kennedy), Jordan Robey-Becerra, Madison Maynord, and Hannah Young; sisters, Doris Skirka and Nancy Munch, and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Alex Maynord, Brandon Maynord, George Skirka, Jr., Joel Lynch, Tyler Ervine, and Keith Treybig.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Mar. 14, at Crawford St. United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Tom Potter.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Crawford Street United Methodist Church, 900 Crawford St., Vicksburg, MS 39180.
