Malcolm Louis Carlisle: 1933-2025

COLUMBUS, Miss. — Malcolm Louis Carlisle passed away on May 27, 2025 in Columbus, MS his home for a number of years.  Malcolm was born in the Yokena Community on January 26, 1933.

He attended Jeff Davis Academy, graduated from Jett High School, Hinds Junior College, and Mississippi State University.  He served in the U.S. Army, Special Forces during the Korean War, while stationed 4 years in Germany.

He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Carlisle Harvey and grandchildren:  Keighly Vacalopoulos (John), Kristen Clemmons (Lee), Allen Harvey (Kristen), Mackenzie Harvey, and Carley Carlisle; 6 great-grandchildren.

Malcolm accepted Jesus Christ at Grace Baptist Church as a teenager and baptized at Bowmar Avenue Baptist Church.

A memorial service for Malcolm Louis Carlisle will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Saturday, May 31 at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
